ACUMEN, which covers all aspects of acute medical care, allows you to practice your skills in diagnosing and managing a whole host of conditions. It is aimed at clinical trainees specializing in acute medicine. The themes are relevant to trainees across the world.
Interactive training on emergency medicine
The knowledge sessions, which have been written by practicing clinicians from the UK, include many interactive features, such as videos and self-assessment exercises, to reinforce learning.
Relevant to clinical trainees globally
Using scenario-based exercises, you can practice your skills in managing various emergency medical situations in the safety of a virtual ward, with ‘patients’ experiencing symptoms from cardio-respiratory arrest through to breathlessness and chest pain. You can learn how to:
- review a medical history
- perform a virtual examination
- create a management plan
- review the patient outcomes
You can compare your performance with that of an expert clinician, helping you to identify any knowledge gaps.
This online acute medicine programme consists of four modules, each containing a number of sessions. Learning sessions take around 20 to 30 minutes each to complete.
The emergency presentation module covers subjects such cardiorespiratory arrest, unconscious patients, shocked patients and anaphylaxis
Main presentations including acute kidney injury, breathlessness, chest Pain, fits & seizures, haematemesis and melaena, poisoning and vomiting & nausea (to name a few).
Other topics covered include haemoptysis, hypothermia, immobility, medical complications following surgery and in pregnancy, head injury, polydipsia and lymphadenopathy.
- Easy online access – The learning is available via the Internet so you can study in the workplace, at home or even on the move.
- Content is covered through engaging Multimedia content to make the learning interesting and descriptive.
- The learning sessions include clinical diagrams, images, clips and self-assessment questions, to help reinforce learning and understanding.
- For one full year, you can view the learning sessions and refer to it whenever you like.
- Upon completion of all learning modules and self-assessment tasks, an e-certificate will be awarded.

What is the procedure after enrolment?
- You will receive a welcome mail with your login credentials for the program, guidebook, and course curriculum, highlighting important dates to keep in mind within 48 hours on your registered email id.
- You can begin a self-paced study, completing the modules as per the program schedule.
How to access the course material online and do you provide study material in hard copy as well?
Once you complete the enrolment process, you will be provided with a unique student id and login details. If in case you haven’t received the same within 48 working hours from the support team, please feel free to call us on +91-9810122818 or write to us on support@medigrad.com. You will get the hard copy of the study material at your postal address in 5-7 working days. All International students will also receive the study material by paying additional courier charges of USD 150* and with due condition of courier service available in their country.
Can I submit my certificate at a later date after enrolment or can I enrol by providing my provisional certificates?
Certificates are a proof of your educational credentials this will be required for the enrolment. However in case of any difficulty you may give a written undertaking to that effect for providing the certificates within the stipulated time frame.

Is it a recognized program by the Medical Council ?

Is this completely an online course? Do I need to attend any classes or training?
